Five Minute Friday - Jump

It's FRIDAY! That means it's time for another Five Minute Friday where, as our hostess and inspiration, Lisa-Jo Baker, puts it, we write "For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not."

Today's topic is jump. So...here...we...
Go!

All too often people jump to conclusions. They see or hear something and, quick as a flash, they're off and running, reacting in word, action, and/or deed, to what they THINK is going on, rather than taking the time to find out the facts, or reality, of the situation first. Are you one of those people? I imagine that, at one time or another, we've all been guilty of it, but there are some people that that is their norm...and it's not a quality to be admired. In fact, it can be quite frustrating when you continually have to deal with someone who refuses to listen, and/or chooses to only hear in part, before speaking, or acting, out before hearing the whole of a matter. Bearing that in mind, let us remember these words from scripture...

"He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." (Proverbs 18:13)

Stop!

  1. Oy! We've been dealing with this at our house just this week... a good reminder to keep looking in the mirror and keep our hearts in check. :)

  2. How intriguing that the word prompt "jump" would inspire such an interesting post.
