Happy Homemaker Monday ~ July 10, 2017

This is my very first Happy Homemaker Monday post ever! My friend, Laura, over at Harvest Lane Cottage introduced me to them and I'm so excited to be sharing one with all of you this morning.

So...here goes...

The weather.....

...hot, sunny, and humid! I am definitely looking forward to fall! 😎

Right now I am....

...waiting on the tea water so I can make my morning cuppa. I don't do coffee at all, so it's hot tea year round for me. ☕

Thinking....

...about a dream I had last night. In it, three young people came running out of the woods where my husband and I were camping. We conversed a bit and the conversation was frantic. They were in great fear and believing something that was totally untrue (I don't remember what it was now, but it was totally ludicrous) and they believed it because "they" had taught it to them. So, in their minds it had to be true! My message to them was, "Just because "they" say it, doesn't make it so. Get out of the herd mentality and search out the Truth for yourself!" I'm thinking that there's a message in that for all of us.

On my reading pile....

The Untapped Power in Praise by Kenneth W. Hagin

The People of the River's Mouth by Michael Dickey

To Know Him by Gloria Copeland

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....

- 10 Refreshing Infused Water Recipes (With Fruit and Herbs) from Wellness Mama

My first attempt (just plain watermelon). If this works and I like it, I am thinking
that it's time to stop the diet soda completely and do this instead. Yum!

Something fun to share....

- This is a picture of one of the bison at work. It was taken through the big plate-glass window on the east side of the nature center. One of my friends pointed out that this definitely looks like a bison selfie! LOL! 😃

Blog hopping (newly discovered blog)....

Sincerely, Paula - Features a "No Rules Weekend Blog Party"

On the menu for this week....

We're in the middle of our Dollar-S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g, Cabinet-Cleaning, Clean-Up-The-Food Project Plans For July, so this might get a little weird toward the end of the month, but, here are my ideas based on what we have in the house at this point...

- Monday - bean and cheese tacos, fresh pineapple
- Tuesday - stuffed peppers, corn, fresh pineapple
- Wednesday - pasta, sauce, meatballs, bread
- Thursday - roast chicken, boxed stuffing with mushroom sauce, and green beans roasted with olive oil
- Friday - grilled salmon, mashed potatoes, and broccoli
- Saturday - ham and beans (freezer), cornbread
- Sunday - leftovers

On my to do list....

- My weekly "home blessing"
- Take my granddaughter, Audrey, out for her birthday lunch 🎈

In the craft basket....

- I'm experimenting with pinhole camera ideas for my upcoming solar eclipse program at work this weekend.

Looking forward to this week....

- My friend, Dorothy, is coming for a visit. We met in 5th grade and have been friends for over 45 years. It will be good to catch up with one another before she moves away.

Looking around the house....

- Have been in this house for nine months now and have yet to do the kitchen, bathroom, and hallway floors. We need to figure out what we're doing and get it done.

From the camera....

- Discovered this handsome, little pollinator atop a stem of blazing star while leading Saturday's guided bison hike.

On my prayer list.....

- My friend, Laura, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her prayer is that the cancer would die within her body and that her heart, brain, organs, and healthy cells would be protected. She declares that she will live and not die and will declare the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Psalm 118:17). I stand in agreement with Laura concerning this prayer and declaration and declare myself for it to be so in the name of Jesus!

Bible verse, Devotional....

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19).

Until next time...
~Rebecca

  1. Thank you so much for all your support, Rebecca. You are God's gift to me through all of this. Who would have known?

I wrote my Happy Homemaker post all at once last night, and because I was so tired, it took me a long time. I've been trying to do it over a few days, but I'd let it go too long. I was so tired, I had to have help getting ready for bed! I'm learning my lessons.

Today, I am trying to visit some blogs. I've also done some knitting, some reading, some napping, and I've taken Amy to volunteer at Art Central with the kids' summer camp.

We're having pork chops and mashed potatoes for dinner. We'll probably add another veggie, too.

Your menu looks great for the week.

    Visiting from Happy Homemaker Monday!
    Blessings,
    Another Happy Homemaker

    1. I'm know! I'm so thankful that God has put us together through all of this.

Healing is forthcoming, but, for right now, you are in a different season. Learn to pace yourself and don't overdo. Rest while you can. The future may be busier than you have ever known.

Pork chops and mashed potatoes sound good! Yum!

Enjoy the rest of your day, my friend, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He's already paid it all.

      I love you, Laura!

      Hugs,
      ~Rebecca

Oh and I love your book list, one of them definitely caught my eye because it's the kind of book I enjoy, so I'll be checking it out at my library.
