First Margarita Pizza Of 2020

Fresh-baked Margarita Pizza
Although summer officially arrived weeks ago, it really doesn't get started for us until we've had that first slice of Margarita pizza (named for Queen Margarita of Spain) made with fresh tomatoes and basil from our own garden. 💗🍕😋

Fresh Tomatoes Right Off The Vine, Provolone
Cheese, and Garlic Powder
A Margarita pizza is really easy to make. Simply make your crust (see recipe below), sprinkle generously with garlic powder and dried basil or oregano (whichever you prefer or both).

Fresh Basil
Then top with fresh, meaty, sliced tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, and slices of non-smoked provolone cheese.

Raw Pizza Before Baking

Bake pizza at 450 degrees until crust is done and the cheese is bubbly (13 to 15 minutes) and enjoy!

Pizza Crust

2 1/2 teaspoons or 1 package yeast
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups unbleached or whole wheat flour

Mix well. Then flatten out in pizza pan that has been drizzled with olive oil. Brush top of crust with olive oil.

Until next time...

    1. I, personally, don't care for the smoked, Sandi, but, I suppose, if you like it, it would work just fine, too. Guess I didn't need to specify non-smoked...huh? :) Have a great rest of the week and thanks for stopping in! <3

    1. Thanks, Susie, and, yes, it's got to be healthier than a regular pizza...especially when you consider that I use only Prairie Gold 100% whole wheat flour in the crust! :) LOL! Blessings to you, too! I hope your week is going well! <3
